The game runs entirely in your browser. imposter-game.com is a client-side party game: choosing a category, generating secret word pairs, revealing roles pass-and-play, and copying or printing word cards all happen locally on your device. There is no account, no login, and nothing you type or generate is sent to us.

What we don’t collect

• Player names you enter for a pass-and-play round.
• The categories, difficulty, or word pairs you generate.
• Seed links you create or share — those encode game state in the URL, not on our server.
• Account information — there is no signup.

Analytics

We may use privacy-friendly, aggregate analytics to understand overall traffic — page views, referrers, and rough country-level location. This data is anonymous, is never linked to an individual, and never includes the names or words you use inside a game round.

Advertising

This site is free to play, and we may display third-party advertising — including through Google AdSense — to support it. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

The game itself works without login and does not require cookies to play a round, generate words, or print cards. Cookies that are set come from the third-party services described above (analytics and advertising), not from storing your game. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; the game will still play.

Local storage

We may use your browser’s local storage to remember lightweight preferences — such as your last-used category or number of players — so the game is quicker to start next time. This stays on your device, is not sent to us, and can be cleared at any time from your browser settings.

Third parties

Static assets (fonts, libraries) may be served via a content delivery network. Aside from the analytics and advertising services named above, no other third party receives your data.

Children’s privacy

imposter-game.com is a general-audience party game and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves — for example, if we add or change a third-party service. Material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date.
